Ask anyone who’s spent a lot of time in Africa and you’ll find that Zimbabwe comes up over and over again as one of the best places to visit. In spite of its political ups and downs, the country remains an excellent safari destination and the warm smiles of the Zimbabweans always make you feel so welcome.

Hwange National Park remains one of the most special safari experiences in Africa, with very large elephant populations and healthy populations of elephants, Cape Buffalo, lions and antelopes like impalas and kudus. Mana Pools provides some of the best game viewing in Africa, and is particularly good for African wild dogs.

A safari to Zimbabwe wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the magnificent Victoria Falls, where the more adventurous can go on a helicopter ride over the falls, white water rafting or bungee jumping. A cruise on the mighty Zambezi River affords great sightings of hippos and crocodiles from the water.

In the south of the country, for the more off-beat traveller, Pamushana and the Save Valley Conservancy provide great alternatives for safaris in the low veld that really make a difference in conservation. This is a great destination for couples, groups and families, as well as the more adventurous travellers!

Conservation Projects

Over the years we have supported ongoing conservation work in the Save Valley Conservancy from providing motorbikes for rangers to monitor critically endangered wild dogs to equipping the local school at Humani with new computers.
